And you don't need that to get good tips if you have a good rapport with your passengers. You don't need to be clean shaven with short-cropped hair to look presentable. They commented that they prefered the hair and beard because it fit the subconscious image in their mind of a bush pilot. My hair isn't long, but it's shaggy and I have a beard, certainly not dumpy-looking but also not the 'corporate image.' Once upon a time I flew some guys out looking like that, and a couple days before picking them up, decided to cut the hair and shave the beard just for shits and giggles.
